So What is the Energy Efficiency Coalition?

The EEC is composed of more than 100 representatives from industry, academia and nonprofit organizations. Led by the Alliance, the EEC convenes for weekly calls when Congress is in session in order to coordinate and exercise a broad outreach effort that involves congressional member meetings, letters to committee chairs and communication with congressional staff regarding the coalition’s legislative priorities.

Issues Highlighted in Recent Calls Include:

  • Energy Tax Policy
  •  Appropriations and the FY 2012 Budget Request
  • Consensus Appliance Standards Legislation
  • Prospect for a Clean Energy Standard

What Alliance Associates are saying…

“The Energy Efficiency Coalition has been a critical source of information for our policy and advocacy work at Rebuilding Together.  In particular, the weekly conference calls provide timely information in a succinct format and bring together high-level leaders from key stakeholders in energy efficiency.  It’s the most efficient half-hour coalition that we’re a part of each week.  Thank you and kudos to the Alliance for serving as an excellent convener.” — Matt de Ferranti, Senior Director of Federal Affairs, Rebuilding Together

“NASCSP has benefitted greatly from our collaboration with the Energy Efficiency Coalition, including access to tools and strategies to communicate the benefits of the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and to combat misinformation from detractors. The weekly calls allow us to get the most current information available and connect us with other potential partners.” — Arley Johnson, Director of Government Relations, NASCSP.

“The EE Coalition is an immensely valuable resource for us.  Checking in each week to share knowledge and discuss strategies and ongoing efforts with all those who are working to progress energy efficiency directly supports our own advocacy efforts.  I believe that we drastically improve our chances for success by coordinating all of our initiatives and by working together.”  — Billie Kaumaya, Manager, Federal Relations, American Institute of Architects.
