 Great athletes may look similar to their competitors from the outside, but as the competition progresses, their superiority becomes clear. The same is true of the participants in the Appliance Olympics, in which a refrigerator, clothes washer, and torchiere lamp bearing the ENERGY STAR label race against conventional counterparts. They show that greatness comes from the inside – in their cases from their energy-efficient technologies.
 ENERGY STAR is the symbol of energy efficiency. Products with the Energy Star are certified by the U.S. Department of Energy, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency They use less energy and reduce pollution and energy bills.
