On April 15, Earth Day, in Washington, D.C. Alliance President Kateri Callahan participated in a Team Challenge event for KidsCom, an online “edutainment” virtual world with a focus on teaching kids about Global Climate change and sustainability in the real world.
During the event, the kids presented Kateri with a “Master Idea Seeker” certificate in recognition of her and the Alliance to Save Energy’s “efforts to make the world a better place today and tomorrow.” The kids also served as virtual reporters by blogging and posting pictures and videos about their experience in Washington D.C. The posting is available on the KidsCom website site, www.kidscom.com, so kids all around the world can learn more about actions they can take to give back to the environment. |

The event included a group of four students selected to represent the over 1.25 million students who are actively involved on KidsCom.com and who created over 1,000 Earth Day cards to create greater awareness among policy makers. These four students were winners of the KidsCom Team Challenge, a contest that gives kids the opportunity to work as teams to learn about climate change, its impact on animals and what they can do to help.
