Executive Leadership and Sponsorship, Communicating the Mission, assigning a client account Portfolio Energy Manager , energy analysis and opportunity Assessment , Real Estate Portfolio-Specific Strategic Energy Plan, superior Implementation and Execution, continuous measurement / adjustment / communication, and finally the celebration of successes.
In 2006, Jones Lang LaSalle established a policy mandating that all client facilities managed by Jones Lang LaSalle (902 million square feet) must participate in the recommended energy management practices of the Energy Star Program.
Additional successes include:
- Dedicated energy management services to seven major international organizations
including: Bank of America, Motorola, Sun Microsystems, American Financial Realty
(AFR), Solectron, Charles Schwab, HSBC (Americas).
- The CEO of Jones Lang LaSalle (Colin Dyer) established an Energy and Environmental
Sustainability Board, consisting of senior management representatives around the world.
- Expanded the use of LEED related design, including the accreditation of 35 LEED AP
individuals which lead the efficient design and operation of 16 facilities representing 10.2
million square feet.
- Provided energy training and awards at an Annual Engineering Conference for
approximately 500 Chief Engineers. 27 Chief Engineers were recognized for exemplary
performance in energy management, including those properties that had favorable
decrease of energy consumption and expense.
- Jones Lang LaSalle actively manages the energy management programs for 10,163
client facilities representing 192 million square feet.
- $33 million in energy related utility expense savings.
- Success in reductions in energy consumption during 2006 for properties with a
dedicated Jones Lang LaSalle Energy Management Program include:
- Documented Electric consumption reduction - 117 million KWH
- Documented Natural Gas Consumption Reduction – 121,000 MMBTU
- Reduced direct and indirect greenhouse gas emissions of 89,856 tons of Carbon
Dioxide (CO2) through the reduction of electric and natural gas.
