European Fact Finding Trip

The Alliance to Save Energy organized and conducted a fact-finding trip to Europe from August 29-September 2, 2005.  During the five-day trip through Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands, congressional staff , Administration officials, and state policy advisors toured energy efficiency applications, and engaged in discussions with European policy makers from all levels – the European Union, individual countries, and cities –about current and planned energy efficiency measures in both Europe and the U.S.  Along the way, the delegation also met with a variety of representatives from industry, the environmental community and others to exchange ideas about how to best encourage energy efficiency.
