|
Established in 1947, Brookhaven National Laboratory is a multi-program national laboratory operated by Brookhaven Science Associates for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), intended to produce excellent science and advanced technology with the cooperation, support, and appropriate involvement of both the scientific and local communities. Research venues include physics, biomedical and environmental sciences, and energy technologies. Brookhaven also builds and operates major facilities available to university, industrial, and government scientists.
It is BNL’s policy to integrate environmental stewardship into all facets of the Laboratory's missions, and manage its programs in a manner that protects the ecosystem and both employee and the public’s health.
