Connecting the Wheels of our Transportation Future to the Future of the Modern Grid: Edward Kjaer has been a leading proponent of transportation electrification for almost 20 years in the United States. Prior to starting his consulting practice, Ed held a number of key management positions at Southern California Edison (SCE) leading that company’s electric transportation programs. After joining SCE in 1996, Ed was responsible for the broad corporate wide effort driving transportation’s connection to SCE’s electrical system. Ed’s responsibilities over the years included; company strategy, external stakeholder engagement, regulatory and legislative strategy, RD&D programs and internal program coordination. In 2011, Ed received the prestigious “Hall of Fame” award from the Electric Drive Transportation Association and has been named to the Automotive News “Electrifying 100” most influential people leading industry towards a more electric powered transportation future.
