New EVO Affiliates: ADENE, Portugal & EMANZ, New Zealand

The Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) is pleased to announce its newest Affiliates, ADENE in Portugal and the Energy Management Association of New Zealand (EMANZ).

Agência para a Energia – ADENE, the Portuguese national energy agency, is a non-profit organization established in 2000 by the Portuguese Ministry of Economy with the mission to “promote activities of public interest in the energy area and to be the interface with other sector policies.” The agency is focused on promoting energy efficiency in buildings, industry, transport and the public sector, and works to improve energy efficiency, adopt new energy management systems and introduce new technologies. It also acts in other areas related to the implementation of energy policy and in close cooperation with appropriate public entities. ADENE is the managing body for the National System for Energy and Indoor Air Quality Certification of Building’s (SCE) and the National Management System of Intensive Energy Consumption (SGCIE), and a member of the European Energy Network (EnR Network) and the Mediterranean Association of the National Agencies for Energy Conservation (MEDENER).

The Energy Management Association of New Zealand - EMANZ, works to ensure that a continuing high standard of expertise in energy management and energy efficiency is available to industry, commerce and the public of New Zealand. An incorporated society established in 1993, EMANZ is a professional body whose members have a common interest in improving energy use and are the principle providers of energy efficiency services to all sectors of the economy. The association aims to promote the highest standards of energy management skills and competence to foster and facilitate the integration of sound energy management practices into all sectors of the New Zealand economy, and to provide a forum for the discussion of energy management issues, skills and techniques to develop practical energy management policy proposals and represent these where appropriate. EMANZ provides support to its members to ensure services provided to improve energy productivity and reduce energy waste are carried out to the highest standards. The association has developed a range of tools for managing and measuring energy, administers its own energy auditor accreditation program, and facilitates training courses and professional development fora, conferences and workshops. EMANZ is a collaborating technical society of the Institute of Professional Engineers New Zealand (IPENZ).

EVO encourages key energy efficiency players around the world to support its Affiliates and gives them special rights and opportunities to use EVO’s name and materials in their area. EVO’s other Affiliates include the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) , in India, China’s SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services Co., Ltd., the Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) in Australia, EnergyLab in Spain and Energy Efficiency Training & Services Institute (IFS2E) in France.
