EVO and AEEE Announce International M&V Conference in India

To consolidate the experiences in M&V practices and principles of the last several years in India, the Alliance for an Energy Efficient Economy (AEEE) in partnership with EVO, plans to organize the International Conference on India M&V Experiences, EVO and ISO 50001 & Way Forward, October 9-10, 2012 in New Delhi.
 
The aim is to bring together all the experience in M&V in India and South Asia, and the link to ISO 50001.  Dr. Satish Kumar, one of the founders and architects of IPMVP and current EVO Chair (and also working at Schneider-Electric India), is leading the EVO team along with EVO Executive Director Graham Wooding.
 
Measurement & Verification is critical for India’s Energy Management business and growing energy efficiency markets. India relies primarily on market mechanisms to achieve its ambitious energy conservation targets. The private sector and industries are identified as keys partners to tap the potentials of EE markets spread across services and equipment such as electrical systems, electric motors, fans, pumps, boilers, compressors, furnaces, HVAC and refrigeration, insulation & refractory and cooling towers. Energy efficient fans and pumps alone are expected to create new markets worth US $220 million.
 
M&V systems are expected to strengthen and enable the following:
 

  • Perform Achieve and Trade Scheme: For the industry to achieve targeted reductions through energy savings certificates
  • Need for Energy Performance Contracts for Industrial Energy Efficiency
  • ESCO Industry for EE Businesses
  • Private Sector participation in Utility DSM
